South Clear Creek Falls is located about 60 miles from the turn off at South Fork CO on Hwy 149 towards Creede CO. Along the drive you will enjoy the river and mountains the entire way. Once you arrive at Silver Thread Campground you turn off into the campground and follow the loop to the South Clear Creek Falls Trailhead and parking area. South Clear Creek Falls is a short walk down into the rock canyon to view the falls. About 900 -12oo ft down. The walk is kid friendly and provides you with an additional short walk down from the viewing area to the creek side right at the pool base of the waterfall. This is well worth your time when visiting the Rio Grande County Area. Going back up takes a little longer due to the steep trail. Stop, breathe, hydrate and view the mountains and enjoy the beautiful surroundings.
