The name Treasure Falls came from Treasure Mountain, which legend says holds buried gold.

The waterfall cascades 105 ft. into Falls Creek and continues to the San Juan River, which begins at the top of Wolf Creek Pass and flows west all the way to the Gulf of California.

The trail is about 1/2 mile and well maintained, it can be slick in wet or icy weather. Hike to the misting deck and feel the falls close by. Rainbows near the falls are often created from the water mist in the sunshine. For an extra adventure take the natural un-improved trail down from the falls to complete the loop.

DIRECTIONS: From South fork travel west on US 160 over the top of Wolf Creek pass as you travel down the pass the Parking lot for the falls is at the bottom of the last switch back.

Well worth your time to visit. Both summer and winter.
